We face an uphill battle (cycling pun fully intended) trying to fix what we still can, change personal and societal habits and adapt to new climate realities. Help us take action and resolve our serious sustainability issues.
We are doing our part: We will be riding 163 miles and almost 15,000 feet of elevation gain over 6 days in whatever weather Iceland throws at us. We are self-funding a large portion of our campaign but still, WE NEED YOUR HELP.
Iceland will be my 4th Climate Ride and Linda's first (as a rider).
It's often difficult to see any impact on the world from our individual efforts. I support Climate Ride because my and my donors efforts don't disappear into the ether.
I participated in the Glacier NP Climate Ride last summer and Linda drove support. The beneficiary was Glacier NP Conservancy. They gave a talk one evening during the ride and told us that the funds we were raising for that very ride were going to be used to convert Apgar Visitors Center over to solar power. If you donated to my ride, YOU helped do that! Thank YOU!
When I return to Glacier NP in coming years and see solar panels at Apgar VC, I will take pride in that. And I will be thankful and proud of all of you that helped.
The 2017 efforts of Climate Ride, a small but passionate and powerful group raised over $765,000 that were distributed in grants to beneficiaries. Since their inception they have raise nearly $5 Million for climate, clean energy, and bicycle/pedestrian advocacy grantees.
We can effect real change! Please Donate! And get a T-Shirt!
Thank you for your help!
Robert and Linda MacDonald
