My name is Taylor Nguyen, this is my very first semester at Johnson County Community College. One of my favorite things about Johnson County Community College is that I get to sit next to world changers in my classroom! Words cannot explain all the positive change and impact that my peers have had on me throughout the semester. Thankfully, I have been involved with a ministry here called InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. Through InterVarsity, I am learning how to be intentional & missional wherever I am on campus, as well as a leader who has a positive influence here.
InterVarsity is an interdenominational campus ministry that will be hosting Urbana 18, the largest North American student missions conference, December 27-31, 2018, in St. Louis, Missouri. Urbana has a history of powerfully impacting thousands of people for the rest of their lives. I am excited to be there, joining more than 16,000 others who are also exploring “how to do my gifts, dreams, and calling fit into God’s global mission?” Right now, he has called me to be on mission as a student at JCCC. At Urbana, I will have the chance to further learn and discern what His calling is for me in a fuller and deeper way: in relationships, in the workplace, and in missions around the world. With opportunities to connect with over 250 missions organizations and being able to hear firsthand accounts from the persecuted church, Urbana offers many opportunities that are hard to find anywhere else.
It will cost around $900 for me to attend, which will includes conference fees, travel, housing, and food. Would you consider financially contributing to God’s mission at JCCC and in the world?
